The long wait is over. The Garden Center has official opened for the season! We couldn’t be more excited. The garden center is full of great garden accessories and décor that people have already been purchasing. Our first loads of topsoil and mulch are in stock. Pottery has started to arrive, and there are many shapes and sizes to choose from this year, along with new colors. Soon statuary, birdbaths, and fountains will be here. With the beautiful weather we have been having we are focusing on getting tables and benches put in place and prepping the beds for the arrival of the new plants. Plants will be arriving in the next couple of weeks. We are looking forward to the new plant varieties we have selected for the 2015 season, and we hope you are too.
We also have all new tropical plants that we will be carrying this year. Some are familiar and some are so unique I don’t know where else you will find them. Some favorites of ours are Tacca, Bouganvilla, Pineapple and Shrimp Plants. We also added some new varieties of annuals to add even more color to your yard or patio. We will have all these in before Mother’s Day, so make sure to make time and stop in our greenhouse to pick up that wonderful gift Mom will love. Don’t forget, you deserve to buy a gift for yourself too.
We not only enhanced our greenhouse but our perennials department just got a little bigger with new varieties as well. If you are looking to add color to your landscape you will definitely want to check out these new perennials. If you are a big fan of Coneflower like we are you will want to add Cheyenne Spirit to your yard. It’s a variety of coneflower that gives you a mix of vibrant colors in one plant. But don’t forget to check out some other new great perennials like Pomegranate Kiss Dianthus, Mars Midnight Knautia, Dutch Chocolate Baptisia, and Belamcanda Chinensis.
If Perennials aren’t your thing, we have added some new shrubs to our wide range of plant stock as well. For instance if you love hydrangeas, and they grow too big where you want them, we have started to get dwarf varieties in. One of these varieties that have been getting some publicity is Strawberry Sundae Hydrangea. Grows just like its big brother Vanilla Strawberry hydrangea but only stays around 3 feet tall. If shrubs that have abundance of flowers is your thing you will want to add Sonic Pink Weigela to the yard. If you love seeing the butterflies in the garden Funky Fuchsia Butterfly Bush will be your go to plant. Not to mention the deep rich color of the bloom is to die for.
We also have some new trees we will be carrying for the 2015 season. They will be arriving for Arbor Day. We will mention these trees in our next blog, so stay tuned to read about these new varieties. I hope this makes you eager to get in the garden and start planning for the new arrivals. I know we will be adding some of these awesome plants in our own yards.
Stop by the Garden Center this Saturday to help us celebrate the start of the season. All Giftware in the store will be 20% Off.
